Benjamin Horvath, LL.M.

Benjamin Horvath advises clients on media, IT and press law issues, as well as on real estate and international inheritance law.

Biography

Benjamin Horvath studied law in Cologne. He then graduated in 2008 with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law and IT from Stockholm University (Sweden), where he focussed on the protection of intellectual property in the digital age and the legal framework for automation processes.

During his clerkship Benjamin Horvath for example worked in the legal department of the German Opera in Berlin and in the IP department of a commercial law firm in New York (USA). After being admitted to practise as a lawyer by the Berlin Bar Association, Benjamin Horvath worked for several years in Berlin at a medium-sized law firm for civil law with a notary’s office, where he also worked as an officially appointed notary’s representative.

Benjamin Horvath supports Schalast & Partner in the areas of media, IT and press law, as well as real estate and international inheritance law. He has a special geographic focus on Scandinavian countries because Benjamin Horvath also advises in Swedish. 

Benjamin Horvath is as a delegate of employer representatives a member of the Examination Boards for Qualified Media Experts (Geprüfte Medienfachwirte) at the Berlin Chamber of Commerce and the IT Law Working Group of the German Lawyers’ Association (Deutscher Anwaltsverein). Benjamin Horvath is also involved in film funding and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Jewish and Israeli Film Festival Berlin & Brandenburg.
