Biography

Christoph Just heads the Public Commercial Law / Regulatory practice group. He has been a lawyer since 1996, a specialist lawyer for tax law since 2020 and a specialist lawyer for administrative law since 2003. In 2005, he obtained an LL.M. in European law with a focus on energy law. His main areas of expertise are public procurement law, environmental and energy law. He also advises on other areas of administrative law (including state aid, municipal law, pharmaceuticals and medical devices) and conducts commercial disputes before state and arbitration courts (ICC, DIS, ad hoc). He also occasionally acts as an arbitrator.

Christoph Just advises private commercial enterprises and public sector organisations of all sizes. In public procurement law, he advises clients and contractors, mostly on concessions or supply/service contracts. His experience in litigation extends to all instances, including the Federal Administrative Court, the Federal Constitutional Court, the European Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights. In public law in particular, he is frequently called upon as an expert for complex legal issues in projects, approval or planning procedures. Since 2000, he has published regularly on topics related to his professional practice in specialist journals and as editor and author of a practical commentary on the GWB. The states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse have appointed him as an examiner for the second state examination since 2016. His expertise is recognised by the relevant press organs (JUVE Handbook ‘frequently recommended lawyer’ since 2004, best lawyers for handelsblatt-online for energy law since 2011, for litigation/ADR since 2013, Legal 500).
