Georg Berger, born in Hamburg, studied law in Passau and completed his legal internship in Dresden. His doctoral thesis addressed the issue of network interconnections with respect to telecommunications companies.
After completing his doctoral thesis, he first of all worked as in-house counsel for British Telecom (BT Germany) and Quam. He became a partner at Schalast in 2004, before co-founding the specialist information and communications technology law firm SBR Schuster Berger Bahr Ahrens in Hamburg in 2008. When this firm merged with the firm Fieldfisher LLP, Georg Berger became an equity partner there in the area Regulatory, before setting up his own law firm CLARIUS.LEGAL in 2015, whose managing director he remains.
His work as a lawyer focuses on the areas of infrastructure (telecommunications and energy), litigation and data protection. Georg Berger is TÜV certified Data Protection Officer. In Legal 500 (2020) he is listed as "Recommended Lawyer" for the area of telecommunications.
