Inga Rau

Inga Rau is a Partner at Schalast's Stuttgart office, practicing in the Corporate/M&A and Tax practice groups. Her work sits at the intersection of corporate and tax law, with a particular focus on the structuring and restructuring of businesses and ownership interests, as well as the tax-efficient design of investment structures. Inga advises a broad range of clients – including financial investors, banks, institutional investors, and technology and growth companies – on both domestic and cross-border transactions. She also counsels clients on business and estate succession planning, designs employee participation programs, and advises on international investment projects.

Her areas of focus include in particular:

  • Mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including share and asset deals
  • Structuring and restructuring of companies and ownership structures
  • Cross-border structuring, investments, and financing transactions
  • Employee participation programs (ESOPs, VSOPs, etc.)
  • Business succession and estate planning

Biography

Inga Rau studied law at Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and has been admitted to the German bar for more than ten years. She has built her career across a Big Four accounting and advisory firm and several prominent law firms, an experience that has shaped her deep understanding of the commercial and tax dimensions of complex transactions. Inga Rau joined Schalast on August 1, 2024.
