Schalast’s commitment to the community is based on 3 pillars:
1. Transformation Advice and its Effect on Underprivileged Children
Our activities, in particular in Eastern Europe, made it clear to us that the process of societal transition leaves some behind, especially underprivileged children.
Our pro bono work therefore concentrated for several years on homeless children. That's why, for the last several years, our pro bono work has been in support of the Our Kids Project.
2. Collaboration in non-profit organisations
For many years, Schalast has been involved in non-profit initiatives in the areas in which it specialises, in particular distressed debt/non-performing loans and M&A. These include Deutsche Kreditmarkt Standards e.V. and Erasmus gGmbH
3. Pro Bono e.V.
Schalast was one of the very first medium-sized law firms to join the Pro Bono Deutschland e.V. initiative to promote the pro bono concept in Germany. One of our partners was a member of the association's executive committee for several years.
